Our lovely cupcake is up in Ween's blogspot!

If you refer back to my post about Derrick's birthday back in September, you should know that I had customized a cake for Derrick on his birthday.

I was just browsing through on Ween Nie's blogspot (Ween Nie was the one that prepared the cake for me) and I found out that our cake was posted on her blogspot!

If anyone of you would like to have a look on how creative she is, feel free to visit her blogspot at www.love-a-cupcake.blogspot.com :)

Gathering

It had been a while since the last time I met Faye and Wei Chien. I was so happy to know that they were coming back during the Raya holiday.

We had a great time together for the weekend when they were in Penang. Although the time that we spent together was not very long, it was wonderful.

We had dinner in House of Steamboat together with Derrick, Pow, Ben and Jui Chi. I do not have many good friends, so it had been a long time since the last time I went for a gathering like this :) After that, we went to Tanjung Tokong to have a drink there. We shared some news, jokes, and also dog news as well since all of us raise dogs. The next day, we went out for a drink at night in Autocity. When we reached there, we walked at the flea market in autocity. As usual, our shopping queen Faye shopped for some accessories there.

We went to a pub called Fuel in Autocity for a drink. Those guys had their fun playing snooker, Faye had her fun snapping pictures of herself, and what about me? Well, it is kind of weird, I played PSP there! Haha!

Anyway, we were enjoying ourselves together, and hope to see them again real soon!

Wonderful Dinner @ Kirishima, Cititel Penang

29 September to 3rd October - The Raya week, me and Derrick grabbed a chance to take a week off and had a good rest as we were exhausted taking care of Rudolph since he stayed with me.

During that week, we spent most of our time resting at home and playing with Rudolph.

We also went out for some short walks, karaoke and dinner.

I heard from my elder sister for many times that the food in the Japanese restaurant in Cititel is scrumptious, so we decided to give it a try this time.

The moment we arrived in the restaurant, we were welcomed by the enthusiastic waiters and waitresses, and one of them lead us to our seats. We ordered Spicy Soft Shell Crab roll, Sushi and Tempura set, and Deep Fried Chicken with Rice set. We wanted to order a Nabeyaki Udon, but the restaurant supervisor advised us not to do so as the portion of the 2 set meals that we had ordered were quite big. Luckily we took the advise from him, without ordering the Udon, the portion of the food for both of us was just nice. I guess both of our stomachs would have got burst if we ordered the Udon.

I can say that the dinner we had in the restaurant was wonderful, and it was a pleasant experience.

As an Udon lover, I will have to try the Nabeyaki Udon during the next visit to the restaurant, and it will definitely happen in a short period of time (if me and Derrick are financially affordable :P) :)

I guess words may not be enough to describe how nice the food was. I hope those pictures below helps :)

Rudolph

29th August was a big day for me and Derrick. Wow, when I say this, people asked: "What? Are you guys getting married? Or whose birthday this round?" No! That was the day we brought our beloved Rudolph home! People may be wondering who is Rudolph... Well, let me do a brief introduction of Rudolph, or you may call it a Biography:

Name: Rudolph
Gender: Male
DOB: 21st July 2008
Species: Miniature Schnauzer

I believe I have made myself clear enough about who Rudolph is :)

Now, here goes our new life with Rudolph!

On the first night staying with us, Rudolph was a bit restless as he was not used to stay in his new "room" (a nicer way to address his cage) alone.  All these while before we brought him home, he has got his siblings accompanying him in the same cage. Thus, that was the main reason why he cried throughout the night on the first night he stayed in my house. It was heartbreaking to hear him crying but I had to ignore him so that he will get used to it.

Besides the fact that I had to tolerate his cries, we were also disturbed by the smell of his diarrhea. I guess he was not used to drinking the water from my house as his stool does not look healthy. Luckily, things got better after 2 days we brought him home, when he finally got used to the environment in our house, which is also in a way, his house! :)

Derrick's big day - 18th September 2008

18th of September 2008 -
We celebrated Derrick's birthday together for the third year since we became what people call, love birds.

I still remember vividly the moment I was busy preparing his birthday surprise this year to make it a special occasion. Since we go through the same thing every year, I thought of doing something different as a surprise. I wrecked my brain for weeks (maybe months) thinking what is worth me doing this year!! Finally, I came across an idea, “Why not I order a set of custom made cupcakes since it is something trendy?" It is so hard for me to keep this as a "secret" from Derrick (We share every piece of news together so I guess you all understand how difficult I felt for weeks to keep my mouth shut) as I get excited every time I think of the birthday cake!

Besides that, I have also bought him his favourite Nike Jordan T-shirts, and also his favourite soccer team - Manchester United's jersey! One small thing I also bought for myself, a girl-sized Manchester United's jersey (same design), so that we have another set of couple tee :)

When the day finally arrived, after finishing off my work, I rushed to Gurney Plaza (my ever loving shopping mall in Penang) to collect the long-waited custom made cupcakes! I got Tina to accompany me to collect the cake. The moment I saw the cake, I shouted out, "Wow, that was a perfect piece of work! The design was …… PERFECT!" Great thanks to Ween Nee, a friend of Tina's who helped me to prepare and decorate the cake :)

The very moment I reached home, Derrick was there playing with Rudolph (Just as I expected it). He saw me carrying a box but never asked a word what was inside the box until I opened it up and showed him the cake. I bet he never expected his birthday cake to be customized /personalized in that way (I didn't expect to come up with this idea myself, too).

When he saw his birthday cake, he was speechless, and the first word out from his mouth was, "Wow". He gave me a big hug in return, and as usual, he grabbed hold of his camera to capture the special moment by taking pictures of the cake specially made for him  - Thank God that he loved it.

The following night, we had our dinner in Sakae Sushi (Queensbay Mall) with one of our friends, Ben. Another friend, Pow, was supposed to join us for the dinner, but she could not make it the very last minute! Ended up, we have only 4-1 = 3 persons. We filled up our stomachs with loads of sushi and rolls, and as a sushi lover, what I can say about the meal is it is simply delicious! We had a wonderful dinner and also a great celebration together!
